Just made this recipe. It is delicious and will replace my old hot dog chili recipe.

Swap half the chili powder for chipotle chili powder. Leave out the tomato paste. Add some salt. I used three cloves of garlic and then some powdered. I cut back on the onion (high carb) and augmented with a little powedered onion (stronger flavor). Cook it down to desired thickness.
