Ingredients You'll Need For Air Fried Asparagus
I love any recipe that doesn't take a ton of ingredients to make.

For this Air Fryer Asparagus recipe, you won't have to worry about special ingredients. Everything you need to make it is likely in your fridge or pantry already:
- Asparagus- I prefer thinner asparagus for this recipe.
- Olive Oil- This helps keep the spears from drying out in the air fryer while cooking them to tender perfection.
- Garlic- Everything is better with a little garlic!
- Salt- Just a pinch to bring out the naturally delicious flavors of this veggie.
- Pepper- Adds a little kick to each bite.
How To Make Air Fryer Asparagus

Here is how you make the best air fryer asparagus:

How To Cook Asparagus In The Air Fryer
So you'd rather have steamed asparagus than roasted asparagus? No problem! You can still achieve that with the help of your air fryer!
Here's how you can steam asparagus in your air fryer:
- Thoroughly rinse and dry your asparagus spears
- Spray nonstick spray on the bottom of a 6" springform pan
- Add seasoned and trimmed asparagus with 1/4 cup of water
- Cover the springform pan filled with trimmed asparagus with aluminum foil.
- Cook for 375F for 10 minutes
- Halfway through cooking, gently shake the air fryer basket to avoid burning.
- Remove from the air fryer basket and springform pan.
- Lightly season with coarse ground sea salt and enjoy!
Can You Cook Asparagus Too Long?
Unfortunately, asparagus isn't like some other veggies that you can cook a little over and still get the same results.
If you overcook asparagus you're often left with a mushy, slimy, or charred veggie side dish.
Unfortunately, asparagus can vary significantly in size, so cooking times can be significantly different. For best cooking results, cook asparagus spears that are thin (approximately the size of your pinky) for the lower end of cook time and larger spears of asparagus (approximately the size of your pointer finger) for the greater end of the cooking time.
Tips And Tricks
- Make it uniform. Try to select a bunch of asparagus that is uniform in size for consistent cooking.
- Add Butter OR Oil. If you're living a Vegan or Vegetarian lifestyle, feel free to use your oil of choice in this recipe. If you're using butter, add unsalted so you can grind fresh sea salt over the hot asparagus spears to finish.
- Season to taste. Feel free to sprinkle on or add seasonings to your oil blend before air frying. This is what makes this asparagus recipe so versatile.
- Use a separate pan. If you want to add other veggies, marinade, or quick-cooking seafood to your air fryer meal, use a small springform pan. This will keep all extra liquids and flavors in without creating additional cleanup.
How Do You Reheat Asparagus In An Air Fryer?
Asparagus is a super tender vegetable that is easy to cook. However, you must be careful when reheating it, especially in an air fryer, to avoid overcooking it.
If you're reheating asparagus leftovers I would suggest heating at 275F for 3-5 minutes or until warmed through.
Check often to gauge the temperature and doneness of the asparagus.
