How to Cook Barley

What You'll Need

Barley – Water  – Oil – Butter – Ghee – Coconut Oil, – Salt

Instant Pot Barley 

1. Place barley, water, oil and salt into the inner liner of your Instant Pot. 2. Secure the lid on the pot. Set the Instant Pot at High pressure for 15 minutes. When cook time is complete, let pot release pressure naturally for 10 minutes, and then release all remaining pressure. 3. Fluff with a fork, and serve.

Stove Top Barley 

1. Place barley, water, oil,  salt into a saucepan with a lid. When the mixture boils, reduce the flame to low. 2. Cover and allow to cook for 30-40 minutes. 3. Check to see if the barley is tender. 4. Turn off the heat and let the pot sit undisturbed for 10 minutes.  5. Fluff with a fork.

Rice Cooker Barley 

1. Place barley, water, oil, and salt into rice cooker. 2. Place the lid on the rice cooker and press the rice setting.  3. The rice cooker will automatically turn off when all the water has been absorbed, and your barley is done. About 40 minutes. 4. Fluff with a fork, and serve.
