Soften the Feta. Allow the feta cheese to come to room temperature, as this will make it easier to work with. Cut it into smaller pieces to expedite the softening process.
Combine with Cream Cheese. If you're using cream cheese, blend it with the softened feta in a bowl. Cream cheese adds creaminess and helps achieve a smoother texture.
Mash and Stir. Use a fork to mash and stir the feta (and cream cheese, if using) in the bowl. Apply firm pressure to break down the feta's crumbly texture and create a smoother consistency.
Add Lemon Juice. If you want to enhance the flavor of the dip, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to the mixture. Lemon juice also helps to further soften the feta.
Continue Mixing. Keep mashing and stirring until you achieve the desired consistency. If you prefer a smoother dip, you can continue to mash and stir vigorously. It may take a bit of time and effort to reach the creaminess of whipped feta, but it's doable.
Season. Season the whipped feta with any additional ingredients you like. This could include minced garlic, fresh herbs, a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and pepper. Customize it to your taste.
