How to Make Slow Cooker Chana Masala

1. In a blender, purée tomatoes, onions, ginger, garlic, and serrano pepper. 2. Pour this into the slow cooker. 3. Add chana masala, turmeric, salt, cayenne, coriander and cumin to the tomato onion mixture in the slow cooker. 4. Add in drained soaked chickpeas and the chana dal.

5. Pour in two cups of water into the blender container, slosh it, and pour this into the slow cooker. 6.Cook on high for 6 hours. 7. Use the back of your spoon to mash a few of them to thicken the chana masala. 8. Stir in the tamarind paste, lemon juice, and cilantro, and serve.
