Instant Pot Red Beans and Rice

Use your pressure cooker and make the best Instant Pot Red Beans and Rice recipe you've ever had!  It's warm and spicy and makes the perfect comfort food.

What You'll Need

– Dried Red Kidney Beans – Onion – Celery – Bell Peppers – Canned Tomatoes – Minced Garlic – Cajun Seasoning – Dried Thyme – Dried Sage – Water – Kosher Salt – Louisiana Hot Sauce – Smoked Ham Hocks – Creole Cream Style Red Beans

How to make Instant Pot Red Beans and Rice

1. Dump ingredients into the Instant Pot, except red beans. 2. Cook at high pressure for 15 minutes. 3. Remove the ham hocks and pull the meat off the bone. 4. Turn on saute and add in cream-style beans. 5. Add the ham meat back into the pot. 6. Cook about 10 minutes. 7. Serve over rice.

Tips and Tricks

– For a vegetarian version, use liquid smoke and tomatoes to add a bit of that umami taste. – I have added a can of beans so that you can get some thickness from them as they cook down.  – Alternatively purée a can of kidney beans and add at the end. – If you would like to add some ham to this or sausage, I would recommend that you wait until the beans are cooked and smashed.
