It’s easy to make Keto Lobster Bisque with my recipe! It’s full of all the wonderful, creamy flavors you’ve missed, without all the carbs.
I got creative with this recipe, so I could maintain the rich creaminess we all expect from a Lobster Bisque without going over the top on calories and carbs. It uses an ingredient that you may not expect, but does NOT compromise on flavors and textures you expect – making the perfect Keto Lobster Bisque!
How is this a Keto Lobster Bisque?
I wanted to keep the calories low on this Keto Lobster Bisque, so I used cauliflower to add the creaminess that you’d traditionally get with cream. What I loved about this was that I was able to use a variety of vegetables to add flavor to this Bisque, so not only did it have a lot of flavor, it was also low-calorie and filling. And did I mention tasty? Rich, creamy, and flavorful!
What’s so great about this Keto Lobster Bisque?
Because it’s a soup, it’s more filling than a traditional meal. Soups are my go-to when I’m trying to be strict about low-carb, or when I’m trying to get back on track.
They’re my go-to because they fill you up more, and take longer to eat so your mind is tricked into thinking you got more food than you actually did. Sometimes I need to trick my mind to be successful, and that’s okay!
Is lobster Keto-friendly?
Yes! Most seafood is incredibly Keto-friendly, just like any meat. Seafood is light, filling, and high in protein so it’s a great addition to any diet, and perfect for a Keto way of eating.
Is Lobster Bisque healthy?
My recipe is! This Keto Lobster Bisque is LOADED with veggies, and protein and will fill you with without bogging you down with heavy carbs and calories. Traditional Lobster Bisque is full of heavy cream and typically high in carbs and calories.
What makes a soup a bisque?
A bisque and a chowder are both like thick, creamy versions of soups. A chowder is typically chunky, whereas a bisque is a smoother, creamier version. While they don’t have to be seafood-based, most chowders and bisques are made using seafood as the star ingredient. Soups like corn chowder, or chicken chowder have been created based on a seafood chowder recipe.
How do you make Keto Lobster Bisque?
- Sauté onions, garlic and ginger until browned (I used ghee, you can use a fat of choice or spray with a non-stick spray).
- Pour in chicken broth and dump everything except frozen langoustine or lobster.
- Season with salt and pepper. Cook until veggies are tender.
- Purée vegetables until smooth.
- Put in langoustines or lobster and cook over slow heat until cooked through and serve.
- If you need full-liquids, just purée after you add the lobster or langoustines.
