So I went to see my PCP. She didn’t do the sleeve but has done all our post-op followup.

Highlights from the visit:

  • She said my husband and I should know that we have done better than any sleeve patients the practice has seen. We’re showing the same results of most gastric bypass patients, but better even than some of them.
  • She told me I could stop losing now and she would be delighted if I stayed the way I am. Of course I pulled my pants down as soon as she said this, to show her the fat on my stomach and back and ask about it.
  • She says it’s not fat, it’s skin, or at least most of it is skin and it won’t go away without either plastics or some time. There’s a nurse there that does inch-loss laser treatments for patients. She too had a look and said, yeah there’s some fat there but mostly it’s skin.
  • And to top it all, all my blood work is normal, nothing was out-of-bounds. Cholesterol, blood sugar, triglycerides, vitamin levels, everything is doing great.

She is just delighted with all of it. I think I may be too  🙂

I’m dithering. Part of me would love to have it all gone so I can feel successful and “finished”. The other part of me realizes it is major surgery, it will leave a dark scar on my olive skin, and really the only person who sees me naked loved me 75 poundss ago. So I’m really not sure what I will do. Fortunately we have to wait for several months anyway, so I have time before I can even start considering it.

Thank you!! I was quite pleasantly surprised. I went for a routine check, not expecting any of this.
